HOME
MODEL: ST-1000-CFC
Manufactured
by: Refrigerant Recovery Systems
Part 1: General
A.
This specification shall govern the design, fabrication,
equipment, materials, text, performance, inspection and other minimum
requirements of a refrigerant recovery/recycling system.
B.
Quality Assurance:
The manufacturer must be regularly engaged in the fabrication of
engineered refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment for commercial and
industrial use.
C.
Equipment:
All material and fabrication shall be of the highest quality available at the
time of manufacturing.
D.
Testing: UL
or other qualified testing laboratory approved.
All components of the packaged unit and unit as an assembly shall be
tested prior to shipment.
E.
Warranty:
Unit must have a two (2) year written warranty covering failure of materials and
workmanship of all components of the fabricated packaged refrigerant
recovery/recycling system.
Part 2:
Design: Packaged refrigerant
recovery/recycling unit shall be designed to meet and comply with the following
requirements.
-
Must be capable of removing oil,
moisture, acids and solid contaminates from the refrigerant being recycled.
-
Dimensions:
Approximate Weight: 130 lbs.
H 34” x W 18” x D 14”
-
Unit to be capable of handling:
R-12, R-22, R-500 and R-502
-
Approximate pump down time will be
3-5 lbs. per minute, dependent upon the amount of liquid refrigerant
available and the ambient temperature.
-
Location of gauges, switches, hose connections and control valves shall be
easily accessible to the operator.
-
Storage Tank: Unit shall be supplied
with one (1) 50 lb. D.O.T. approved refillable storage tank.
Tank to have automatic float control to safely shut system off before
over filling.
-
Power: Suitable for 120 volt, 60Hz
power. Other voltage available.

-
Must be capable of distilling refrigerant to separate the oil, acids and
other contaminants from the recycled refrigerant, using a one step process.
Part 3:
Unit Components: The packaged
refrigerant recovery/recycling system shall be shop assembled, portable with
wheel or two wheel dolly. Unit
shall be pre-piped and pre-wired at the manufacturer’s facility.
-
Compressor:
Minimum 1 HP, rotary type compressor.
-
Oil Separator:
Unit must have an oil separator for protection of the systems
compressor.
-
Filters:
Unit must have two (2) cartridge type, easily replaceable filters.
Filters to have a minimum of
62 square inches of filter surface and 35 cubic inches of desiccant in each
filter. Filter shells to be brass or
steel construction.
-
Heat Exchangers:
Unit to have sufficient number of heat exchangers to vaporize
refrigerant prior to entering the compressor.
Minimum capacity to be 14 lbs.
-
Waste Oil Collector:
Unit must have a large capacity collector to trap oils, acids and
other residue removed from contaminated refrigerants:
14 lbs. minimum.
-
Condenser:
Unit’s condenser must be large enough to condense a high volume of
vapor to liquid for storage.
Condenser shall have copper tube/aluminum fin construction and will have two
(2) 10” minimum fan with electric motor.
-
High Pressure Cut-Off:
Unit must have built in safety switch to turn off system if pressure
becomes excessive.
-
Liquid Vapor Valve:
Storage tank will have an approved liquid vapor valve to allow for
removal of liquid without turning the tank.
Built-in pressure relief valve for safety.
-
Tubes/Fittings:
Copper tube and fittings for manifolds and condenser connections to
prevent corrosion and provide longer life.
-
Service Panel:
Shall house all the electrical and mechanical requirements of the
unit. The controls and instruments
required shall be suction and discharge pressure gauges, and electrical
control switches.
-
Pressure Gauges:
Two gauges mounted on panel to indicate inlet operating pressure to
the compressor and the liquid pressure leaving the system.

-
Valves:
The inlet hand valve, outlet hand valve, purge hand valve, equalize
hand valve and the pump down valve shall be mounted to the case of the
system for easy access.
-
Cabinet: The unit will have an
aluminum cabinet to resist corrosion.
Cabinet will be wheel mounted, unless requested with two wheel dolly
at an additional cost. The entire
cabinet shall be fabricated to suit adaptability of system components in
terms of accessibility for operation and maintenance.
Note:
Refrigerant R-114: The REJUVENATOR
model ST-1000 will recover and recycle R-114 at the rate of approximately 2.5
lbs. per minute, depending on ambient temperatures.
All warranties remain in effect for R-114.
